$3,500,000 RECOVERY - Truck/Auto collision - Tractor-trailer fails to stop at stop sign - Wrongful death
On October 7, XXXX the 41-year-old female decedent was operating her motor vehicle when it was struck by a tractor-trailer which failed to stop for a stop sign controlling the intersection. As a result of the collision, the decedent was seriously injured before dying from the injuries sustained in the accident.
The tractor-trailer was being operated by the defendant, RMC Trucking, and was owned by Rodgers Metal Craft. Rodgers had leased the vehicle to the defendant under a lease purchase agreement whereby the defendant was to secure insurance coverage for the vehicle. The insurance was secured through the defendant, Carolina Casualty Insurance Company. Rodgers also had insurance on its vehicles and equipment with FCCI Insurance Group.
