Tobacco Industry Files Suit Over New Regulations
Members of the tobacco industry have filed a lawsuit challenging legislation to place restrictions on marketing for cigarettes and other tobacco products, Bloomberg reports. According to the lawsuit, filed by R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. and Lorillard Tobacco Co., the new law violates free speech protections. The measure limits companies’ ability to provide “truthful information about tobacco products to adult consumers,” the lawsuit said. Bill Koenig and Chris Burritt, Bloomberg
